Innovation FYI

Have you ever tried to warn someone of an innovation only to have them come back and say that driving a car, using a computer and talking on the phone is an innovation too, so what you are calling an innovation cannot possibly be valid? Well if you have, I'm sure you have to stop yourself from rolling your eyes in frustrated disgust.

If we look at the hadith that best covers this issue we can clearly see that the innovation we are talking about has to do with innovations to the RELIGION, not everyday technological advances.

"Indeed, the most evil of matters in the religion are the newly invented ones, and every innovation in the religion is bid`ah, andevery bid`ah is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Hellfire."

I feel true embarrassment for those who use the 'well you drive a car' argument to defend some innovation that they are attached to. May Allah swt guide them and protect them.

Assalamu alaykum,

Its been my personal experience that there are ignorant muslims on both sides of this issue (and others).

May Allah guide us all, Ameen.

your blog is an innovation maam. im sorry lol, i couldnt help myself.

i do know what you mean. using the cirucumstance of driving a car has nothing to do with religion itself so it holds no bearing when being compared with true bid'ah.

Assalamu ALaikum, shukran for the post. Yea, the hadith was talking about bid'ah or innovation in the religion. There is nothing wrong with computers or cars or nail polish or etc. If someone say that dancing in a circle is Sunnah, then subhan'ALLAH, this is bid'a. Or saying we should pray 2 extra rakats to Ali(RA) then this is bid'ah.

Masha allah so many time it gets on my nerves i reply same. innovations in the Religion or different of innovations of society such as tissue paper, cars, a couch, a Job lol i say job some would say why do strive for the dunya ie working on a JOb is striving after the Dunya. instead of supporting ones family. done heard it all. The Sunnah is very Clear and if not clear to you Like the Quran says "Ask those who know if you don't" todays muslims want to follow Naffs not Deen. the best speech if the speech of Allah and the best example is the Example if the Prophet Salaalayhi wa salam. And how do people get that there opinions matter in anything or there ideas , this deen is pure and perfect no need for additions or opinions or what we think. What has been established in this Deen is done!! so anything adding to it will be rejected.. Allahu allim people need to wake up and smell whats cooking could be them better leave off the i think method. ?Bidah comes in small and large forms why risk it for what u like it about pleasing Allah not yr self and following this deen by the believers. with the argument of computers and cars they are stupid and have no sense may allah guide them . ameen

Salamaualikum, im new to ur blog! this post caught my eyes, i agree with umm isma'il in islam, the word bid'ah (innovation) is only speakinf of matters in the religion!!
people are rediculous subanaallah.

phones, and computers, and cars and things like this have nothing to do with islam so why do they bring it up?

sunbanaallah

"I feel true embarrassment for those who use the 'well you drive a car' argument to defend some innovation that they are attached to. May Allah swt guide them and protect them."
